Before and After School Programs Offered Through BEYOND THE BELL
West Vernon Elementary thanks Beyond The Bell and LAUSD for continuing to provide programs that allow our students access enrichment programs that will empower them.
Beyond The Bell - Mission
"The mission of the Beyond the Bell Branch is to ensure that all children and youth in LAUSD have access to high quality, safe, and supervised academic, enrichment, and recreation programs that inspire learning and achievement beyond the regular school day (before and after school and Saturdays)."

USC Troy Camp
West Vernon would also like to thank our contributors at the University of Southern California for their contributions to our school and ongoing support of Troy Camp. We are especially thankful to Troy Camp for continuing to run a special program for our school that allows over 100 students to participate in additional enrichment opportunities.
This Program is offered at our school for students in 3rd through 5th grade through a partnership with USC.
"Troy Camp is one of USC's oldest and largest student-run philanthropies, providing long-term mentorship for students in South Los Angeles. Together, we engage in educational, extracurricular, and leadership programs to foster personal growth and instill the value of learning."

This program is offered at West Vernon Daily from 2:30pm to 3:30pm during 30 weeks of the school year.
Ready Set Go - Morning Program
This Program is offered at our school and is coordinated through the Beyond The Bell Branch of LAUSD.
"Ready-Set-Go!” is the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Before School Academic and Enrichment Program. Funded through a California State Grant, the Before and After School Education and Safety Program, and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers federal grant. “Ready-Set-Go!” has been developed to meet the academic and supervision needs of many elementary children during the critical period before school begins. This program is offered at West Vernon Daily from 6:30am to 7:45am
LA's Best - After School Program
This Program is offered at our school and is coordinated through the Beyond The Bell Branch of LAUSD.
"At LA’s BEST, children go straight into the program after the last bell rings, without ever leaving school grounds. From Sun Valley to San Pedro, El Sereno to Venice, students at 193 elementary schools across LAUSD are greeted after their last class of the day with a nutritious snack, help with their homework, and exciting things to do and learn."

Youth Services - After School Program
This Program is offered at our school and is coordinated through the Beyond The Bell Branch of LAUSD.
"It is our firm belief that very child has a need and right to participate, in the presence of a responsible, caring adult, in engaging activities that support achievement and promote social, emotional , and physical development beyond the regular school day. Beyond the Bell ensures that all children and in the Los Angeles Unified School District have access to high quality, safe, and supervised education, enrichment, and recreation programs that engage and inspire learning."
